Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital (240 units)

Sep 17, 2025

Project Overview

During the 2020 Spring Festival, as the COVID-19 outbreak suddenly intensified, the government of Anyang City, Henan Province, urgently required the construction of a specialized epidemic hospital — the “Xiaotangshan” Hospital of Anyang Fifth People’s Hospital — to centralize the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

This project became a model of rapid-response medical infrastructure. As a strategic centralized procurement partner of China Construction Fifth Engineering Division (Henan), JHHY HOUSE, upon receiving the task, completed the production, transportation, and installation of 154 container hospital units in just 10 days. The total construction area reached 2,772 square meters, comprising 164 rooms, including 124 fully functional patient wards.

The project demonstrates how modular construction can be deployed at unprecedented speed without compromising quality, safety, or functionality, providing critical support during a public health emergency.

Location

Anyang City, Henan Province, China

Project Scale

Design, production, and installation of 154 sets container houses

Construction of 124 fully equipped patient isolation wards

Additional rooms for staff, management, and auxiliary functions

Integration of medical-grade ventilation, water, and electrical systems

Turnkey delivery of a temporary hospital ready for immediate operation

Full project execution in just 10 days under emergency conditions

Solution

To meet the urgent demand for isolation facilities, a modular, prefabricated building solution was employed. Each container house was designed to standardized specifications while maintaining flexible adaptability, allowing for rapid on-site assembly and ensuring compliance with hospital usage standards.

Key measures included:

Factory pre-fabrication to accelerate delivery timelines

Standardized modular room design for infection control and patient care

Efficient logistics and installation coordination involving 80 management staff and over 500 construction personnel

Advanced medical infrastructure integration, including HVAC systems, water supply, and electrical networks

Rapid deployment strategy allowing full operational readiness within 10 days

This solution demonstrates the scalability, speed, and reliability of modular construction for emergency healthcare projects.
